| I have finally taken the leap and am currently taking a seven week beginner's Photography course in Film Photography. Although I love the ease of digital photography, to me, nothing beats film. I am attending the Educational Alliance School in New York City. I feel this is the best school for me for some reason. I have been saying for years how I have been wanting to go, ready to go but never went. I think I have been waiting to find this specific school. I started a week ago and I am very happy with my school, class and teacher. I am learning darkroom and printing my own black and white prints. There is nothing like dropping a piece of photo paper into a pan of chemicals and watching your image come to life. It is so amazing that I don’t think I can put the feeling into words. The school offers various art related classes at very reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. When I attended my first class I saw a table with ceramic bowls created by the students. The beauty of it took my breath away and made me want to create something with my hands. I have decided to take the next class after this beginner’s class. The second class teaches you how to make museum style prints. I find this very intriguing. But before I get ahead of myself I need become stronger in dark room and printing. I want to know my way around it unassisted. I am happy because I feel I am on the good path.
